Agenda

TITLE:  Dry Socket: Prevention and Management in Dental Practice

COURSE SUMMARY: Human papillomavirus (HPV) has become a significant contributor to oropharyngeal cancers, especially in younger, non-smoking adults. With increasing prevalence and limited early
symptoms, HPV-related oral conditions require greater awareness and vigilance within the
dental community. This course provides dental professionals with a comprehensive overview of
oral HPV, including modes of transmission, risk factors, clinical presentation, and its progression
to malignancy. Participants will learn how to recognize early warning signs, perform
appropriate screenings, and engage in meaningful, informed conversations about HPV,
vaccination, and prevention. The course also addresses how certain oral care products may
impact mucosal health and discusses safer alternatives that support comfort and healing,
particularly important for patients with increased susceptibility to tissue irritation.
