SUMMARY: Dental clinicians are uniquely
positioned as resources for their patients addicted to nicotine
products that may lead to morbidity/mortality, and poor treatment
outcomes. Electronic cigarettes were developed in 2003, and have
quickly grown in popularity. The dental clinician will receive
timely information regarding e-cigarette safety, prevalence of use,
the culture of vaping, marketing, health care policy, nicotine
addiction, and health implications.
