Laser Therapy
COST: No Charge
MODE: Electronically
mediated. Recorded webinar for On Demand. (Rec. 4.17.21)
SPEAKER(s): Dr. Gerry Ross,
Dr. Mel Burchman, Dr. Arun Darbar; Past and Current Presidents,
Academy of Laser Dentistry. Co-founders GMA Laser Education,
Academy of Laser Dentistry - Recognized Trainers.
AUDIENCE: Dentists, Dental
Hygienists, and Dental Assistants
OBJECTIVES: Understand the
basic science of photobiomodulation | Know the basic mechanisms of
dosing | Discuss the use of photobiomodulation in extraction socket
management | Demonstrate how photobiomodulation can improve your
implant success
DESCRIPTION: In the
field of oral implantology, research has been directed toward the
potential of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT/Cold
Laser/Photobiomodulation) to reduce the healing time following
implant placement and to improve the potential of bone
regeneration. Experimental studies have reported that Low Level
Laser Therapy/ Photobiomodulation stimulates proliferation and
differentiation of osteoblasts as well as it enhances bonding to
titanium implant. In these studies, application of LLLT in the
early postoperative application was shown to improve the mechanical
strength of the bone–implant interface and stimulate the bone
matrix production.
This 1 hour presentation is an ongoing panel
discussion with Photobiomodulation Experts and Educators, Dr.
Gerry Ross, Dr. Mel Burchman, and Dr. Arun Darbar, Co-Founders, GMA
Laser Education. They will each talk about their own experience
with PBMT and how it changed the way they practice dentistry
forever. Learn how LLLT/PBMT can benefit your own dental practice.
Their discussion will be followed by Q & A "Ask The Experts".
This is an interactive discussion to provide you with an
introduction to Photobiomodulation's benefits. GMA Laser Education
co-founders are current and prior Presidents of the Academy of
Laser Dentistry and North America Association of
Photobiomodulation. They are Academy of Laser Dentistry
Recognized Trainers.
Now more than ever, dental practices rely on the
latest advancements in technology to improve their patient
outcomes. These same technologies should be a win-win for the
dental practice and the patient. During these trying times
Photobiomodulation is the ticket to improve ROI through overall
patient satisfaction. It is a practice builder.
Photobiomodulation (also known as Low Level Laser Therapy) is a
technology that has existed for 50 years supported by science and
research. You will wonder how you have practiced without
implementing Photobiomodulation in your dental practice to
date.
400 dental clinicians surveyed - nearly 87% had
zero to little knowledge of low level laser
therapy/photobiomodulation (PBMT) or
technology, despite numerous studies and
citations providing clinical evidence that PBMT can reduce
inflammation, quicken healing times, reduce the need for local
anesthetic, analgesics, and opioids, provide relief and hasten the
healing of herpetic lesions, improve TMD symptoms and neuralgias,
improve osseointegration in implant cases, move teeth faster with
less discomfort, reduce the incidence of dry socket, and many more
evidence based applications.
