COURSE SUMMARY:

“Who ya gonna call? Hostbusters!”

Join us in the quest to rid mouths of the spooky specter of biofilm.

But here’s the twist—the true heroes aren’t just dentists and dental hygienists. By focusing on patient-centered oral wellness, education, communication, and ongoing support, we empower patients themselves to don the proton pack and take charge of their oral health!

Throughout this engaging webinar, we’ll shine a spotlight on biofilm as the culprit behind many oral health challenges—and showcase how the right toothbrush devices, oral rinses, and personalized patient instructions can help bust the biofilm for good. We’ll explore proven strategies for motivating all patients including geriatric patients and their caregivers, pediatric patients and parents, individuals with special needs, and those who are medically compromised.

By emphasizing ongoing collaboration, consistent check-ins, and tailored solutions, attendees will learn how to guide each patient to become their own fearless Hostbuster, disrupting biofilm, reducing their risk for dental disease and championing long-term oral wellness.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify Key Biofilm “Ghosts” Recognize the mechanisms of biofilm formation and its role in oral health challenges, pinpointing how patient-centered home care effectively “busts” these microbial pests.

  • Empower Patients as the Heroes Discover communication techniques and educational resources that shift the hero’s role from the dental professional to the patient, cultivating ownership and motivation for better oral care.

  • Select the Right Tools and Chemistries Explore various oral care devices and oral rinse chemistries, learning how to match each patient’s unique needs whether geriatric, pediatric, special needs, or medically compromised—with the ideal biofilm-  busting arsenal.

  • Master Patient Communication and Case Management Develop effective strategies to facilitate ongoing patient engagement, integrate individualized instructions, and design follow-up care plans that nurture consistent self-care routines.

  • Foster Oral Health Empowerment  Examine how to adapt patient-centered approaches for diverse populations, ensuring that every patient and their support network, regardless of age or condition, feels equipped and motivated to maintain optimal oral wellness.
