COURSE SUMMARY:  Oral mucositis is a debilitating condition characterized by inflammation and ulceration of the oral mucosa, commonly observed in patients undergoing cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Dentists play a crucial role in the prevention, early detection, and management of oral mucositis, significantly impacting the overall quality of life for their patients.

Dr. Kirsten Roling, DDS

Dr. Roling, DDS is the Chief Education Officer for Dental CE Academy.  She completed dental school training at the University of California, San Francisco; during the height of the HIV/AIDS Pandemic. Dr. Roling is a public health dentist, credited as an early pioneer of Teledentistry. Her clinical practice spans pediatrics to geriatrics. Previously an Assistant Clinical Professor, UCSF; and Public Health Preceptor, Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Dr. Roling also held the position as Chief for the Office of Oral Health, Maricopa County, Department of Public Health where she administered the nation's largest pediatric oral health prevention programs for the third largest U.S. public health department. As a mobile dental provider, she commanded a large teledentistry practice to treat homebound geriatric patients. She is a recipient of the Pediatric Oral Health Access Program (POHAP) scholarship and provided dental services to at risk infants and foster children. She has completed certification through the American Dental Education Association in conjunction with the Academy of Academy Leadership and Institute. She is published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry.
