​COURSE SUMMARY: Xerostomia or Dry Mouth is the fastest growing oral health condition affecting 25% of adults in the U.S. In this online, live, webinar we will learn the causes of xerostomia, the consequences of untreated dry mouth,  what dental clinicians can do to prevent its devastation, and special considerations in the geriatric population. Diagnosing xerostomia can be an important diagnostic tool for other systemic diseases, and assessing the patient's overall health and well-being.

  • Describe the oral anatomy and physiology related to salivary function

  • Know the role of saliva
