COURSE SUMMARY: Aphthous ulcers, commonly known as canker sores, are painful oral lesions that can disrupt patient comfort and oral health. This course explores effective strategies to accelerate healing, reduce pain, and prevent secondary infections associated with these ulcers. Dental professionals will learn about the underlying causes of aphthous ulcers, potential treatments, and how innovative oral care solutions, such as sea salt rinses, can improve patient outcomes. Attendees will gain practical insights into integrating simple, clinically-proven approaches into their practice to minimize ulcer recurrence and support faster healing, ultimately enhancing patient satisfaction and reducing complications.

Dr. Rajiv Saini is a Harvard Medical School graduate specializing in clinical operations with a concentration in industry leadership. A dentist and periodontist by training, he is recognized for his expertise in oral-systemic health research. His work primarily examines the host’s inflammatory and immune responses to periodontal infections, establishing periodontitis as a significant risk factor for various systemic diseases. Experienced in implementing scientific strategies in a variety of R&D operations, with his major focus on projecting research value propositions and mapping new avenues for scientific growth and innovation.
